Major COVID-19 Vaccination Change

The federal health administration announced that now fully vaccinated individuals can now gather together indoors without wearing a mask and/or social distancing. This move comes as a major change to the previously implemented guidelines. Although the vaccine does not prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it does limit the symptoms which should decrease the rate of spread.

Assisted living and retirement centers will rejoice at the news as it brings them one step closer to receiving visitors again. As more people receive the vaccine, we should see businesses and states follow suit and begin to reduce restrictions as well.

The CDC is continuing to encourage those who have received the vaccine to still wear masks, avoid large gatherings and properly social distance when in public spaces. Currently there are over 31 million people vaccinated, however that is only 9% of the current US population so still lots more to go. Senior citizens are still recommended to be cautious and use good judgement for health decisions and social gatherings.
